Colorado is awesome! It's everything I imagined when I planned to move here, and more. I miss California and the accessibility to the rest of the west coast, my friends and family, but I'm seriously glad I came out here to experience the Rockies.
I'm renting a house in Evergreen, which is just west of Denver about 25 miles up into the Rockies. The commute to the Shackman (which is the shop I'm working at in Denver) is about 40 minutes during good weather/traffic. It'll be pretty interesting to see how the commuting goes this winter though - I'm sure it's not nearly as quick! At some point I'd like to setup a small home studio space to minimize the necessity to commute, but I still plan to rent space in Denver - the crew in Shackman are always in 'hustle mode', and I need to walk into that environment sometimes. Glasscraft is just down the road too and they've been one of the best and well-supplied local shops I've had access to since I was in Oregon and had Winship up the street.
The music scene here is amazing, but can be VERY threatening to 'hustle-mode'. Between a handful of local bars that love booking WHOMP on the weekends, there is Red Rocks Amphitheater and Mishawaka, among others, that continually host some great entertainment acts in amazing natural spaces.
Next week is AGI!
